Hi, I’m Jaron.

I’m a father, filmmaker, and entrepreneur.

I was among the first “one-man-band video journalists” in world history, working as a filmmaker for Current TV, Time, and the New York Times with all my gear in one little backpack. I was lucky enough to produce, film, and edit short films and essays from countless repressive regimes and every world continent. I covered the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the broader Middle East for nearly a decade, producing a feature-length film, Disengagement (on Israel’s withdrawal from Gaza in 2005), reporting on the 2nd Lebanon War, two Gaza wars, the Hamas-Fatah civil war, the Iraq War, and the Arab Spring, as well as some underrated cultural and environmental stories.

In 2012, I founded Storyhunter, now called Glimmer, an online marketplace and freelancer management system used by brands and media companies to hire leading independent creators worldwide.

My craziest life adventure was undoubtedly zigzagging 12,000 miles across the country in an Airstream with my wife, 1, and 3-year-old at the height of the Coronavirus Pandemic in 2020. On our 15,000-mile journey from San Francisco to Miami via the San Juan Islands, we stayed in 14 national parks and countless other places. Here’s a photo from White Sands National Park.
